Shelley Idaho Recreation

When it comes to recreation, the town of Shelley does have several different places to go.

Shelley City Park

The City Park, located near the north end of town, just west of the Yellowstone Highway, has a large field containing 4 Baseball Diamonds, and 2 Football fields. It also has numerous shelters and out-buildings, and a play-ground for younger children.

Brinkman Park

Located near the west end of Town, across from the Shelley High School, Brinkman Park has a variety of activities available. On the north half is a Shelter, Racket Ball and Tennis Courts, and a Basket Ball hoop with half court. The south half of the part consists mostly of an open grass field, with a concrete Skate Park on the East half, and a trail at the west corner that follows the Snake River and terminates across from the Bingham County Park.

Bingham County Park

The Bingham County Park is beside the Snake River, approximately 1.6 miles west of town. Inside is a Shelter and Gazebo, a Basketball Court, Playground, and an open grass field. Located at the north west corner of the park is a boat ramp for the Snake River. The south half of the park has facilities for a horse rodeo, and the airfield for the Red Baron R/C Model Airplane Club

Pillsbury Park

Pillsbury Park is located near the east edge of town. It has a playground, basketball hoops, and 3 shelters.

Shelley Outdoor Swimming Pool

Immediately next to Pillsbury Park is the Shelley Municipal Swimming Pool. This is an outdoor pool, so it is open from around June First to September First. The pool has a 2 foot deep section for younger kids, a 3.5 foot section for older kids, a slide, and a 10 foot section with diving boards.

Other Locations

Approximately 4 miles north of town is the Gem Lake Reservoir. There is a shelter, a small grassy area, and Restrooms, plus a boat ramp.

About 2 miles East of Shelley is a small golf course.
